The Islamic empire, being in a central positions between Europe to the west and the Orient to the east, was greatly affected by its neighbors. The collapse of integrity an unity in the Byzantine/Christian Empire allowed for Islam to have a strong foothold in the region. The Silk Road adn China allowed for the Islamic Empire to have a trade-based economic structure. The presence of monotheistic religions nearby the Islamic Empire also influence the culture to accept religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Zorastrianism. Another possible influence is the Chinese "ying-yang" women theory. This pehaps was adopted by the Islamic Empire such that women "were equal under God" but not necessarily in the society itself. Islam was also politically influencd, obviously, by the Crusades and the tragedies and oppurtunities the Crusades presented. Islam felt the negative affects due to the Germanic influence forcing and converting its way into the empire. But conversely, the Islamic Empire had the oppurtunity to "invade and occupy" Northen Africa and Spain. IN retrospect, the Islamic Empire was deeply influenced by its neighbors, their policies, and their cultures.

The growth of Islam religiously was caused by the trading of ideas passed from Muslim traders to traders of different religious backgrounds. It was able to spread along the Silk Road due to the Arabian Peninsula's centrality relative to Europe and Asia. Economically, Muslim traders would try to be fair, which would impact other merchants by probably causing them to lower prices in order to match those of the Muslim traders.

The neighboring empires affected Islam because:
-By it being in the middle of all the empires
-the sassanid was important for islamic empire because it was instumental in promoting Persian nationalism, and creating a persian identity that remained strong, after islamic conquest and attempted Arabisation of the region.
-Arabs seeeking to spread islam
-The Arabs defeated the persians and other battles, giving them more land and the spread of islam.
- And a mass conversion from Persian to islam
- The silk road also provded a way to spread islam, by using it to tade and building alliances
-Muslims fled from Meca to Abyssibia to get away from islam
- In medina islam flourished greatly
Musalims gained much respect over time by just being nice which is also what helped to spread this religion, religiosly politically and economically.

Many empire allowed the Islam empires to trade equally between each of them. The Islamic empires were located near the middle of all the trading hot spots which helped them buy items from different types of cultures. Also with Islams truthful trading terms it helped show to other empires how more people buy things from traders who are truthful. This, in total, led other empires to give the Islamic empire a lot of respect as "neighbors". and in the end with both "neighbors" helping each other out, it lead to the great and large Islamic empire.

The Islamic world was shaped by the help of the empires around it which can include China and the Byzantines. The Byzantines influenced the Islamic women by the veiling of their face which is symbolic by showing respect to their husband, since they have more authority than they do. The submission unto their god Allah. In the political scene we can tell that the spreading of their religion helped them out conquer more land which also became important to their economic develpoment as well. The silk road was a major way of trading, being around all the empires was another great advancement to the Islamic culture and by that they were able to trade easier.

Trading between empires and Islam was common, especially with the usage of the popular Silk Road. This caused economic growth and sharing of beliefs and ideas. Trading centers like Medina prospered with great reputation. Also, Muslims were able to spread their religion to nearby regions and increasing the Muslim population. Muslims were also able to perchase mamluks from Central Asia to supply their army with efficient soldiers during conquests such as Samarra. Successful conquests not only expanded the Islamic empire yet led to both flourishing cities promoting economy and increasing conversions.
